Laser Tag Player Set to Complete 50 State Journey on International Laser Tag Day Will Be Joined By Laser Tag Inventor on the 35th Anniversary of the Game

Laser tag history will be made in Texas on the 35th anniversary of the day the game debuted in the Dallas area. Laurie Jean Britton, a laser tag enthusiast and blogger from upstate New York, will complete her quest to play laser tag in all 50 states while being joined by laser tag inventor George Carter III when she visits Laser Quest of North Richland Hills, TX for a celebration on March 28th. Britton's completion of this goal is planned to take place on International Laser Tag Day, which also marks the 35th anniversary of the start of the laser tag industry. Laser Tag Day commemorates the beginning of the first laser tag, Photon, which was created by Dallas inventor George Carter III and opened its first site in the Dallas area on March 28, 1984. Carter is considered to be the founder of the laser tag industry and will be a special guest in attendance at the event. To celebrate, a special night of laser tag will be held at Laser Quest North Richland Hills (located at 7601 Boulevard 26 #111, N. Richland Hills, TX) which will be open to the public and include refreshments, $5 laser tag games and a special presentation. Reservations are recommended, so please call Laser Quest North Richland Hills at 817-281-0360.

Britton is expected to be the first person to accomplish the goal of playing laser tag in all 50 states while documenting the five year journey in photos and stories on her blog, www.tiviachickloveslasertag.com. According to Erik Guthrie, curator of the Laser Tag Museum, "In researching our vast archives, the staff of the Laser Tag Museum could not find any records in the past 35 years of anyone making such a claim. Therefore, the Laser Tag Museum can confidently state that when Laurie Jean Britton plays laser tag in Texas then she would be the first person ever to play laser tag in all 50 states of the United States of America."

Laser Quest North Richland Hills, will host this evening of laser tag games from 5:00-9:00 on Thursday, March 28th including the game that will officially mark Texas as the final state played on Britton's journey laser tagging across America. Laser Quest is a family entertainment venue combining the classic games of hide-and-seek and tag with a high tech twist.  They are the world’s leader in the laser tag industry and are privately owned and operated by Versent Corporation ULC, with the corporate office based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Laser Quest is a family entertainment venue. Their multi-level arenas have specialty lighting, swirling fog and energetic music to add to the excitement for up to 32 or more players in each game. The first Laser Quest entertainment Centre in North America opened in 1993, and currently operates 50 locations in Canada and the United States, employing more than 850 people across North America.
