Armageddon Day 1 got started bright and early at Revolution Laser Tag in Clinton Township, MI, the site which was hosting us for the first three systems of the tournament. I am delighted to be back playing with Team Plausible Deniability!

Before we even stepped foot into the arena, it was great to see so many laser tag friends  returning for this year’s tournament.

My thanks to the Brit for bringing me such a cool souvenir that he created. This will get a place of honor on the podcast backdrop wall!

ree

A few people brought some other cool goodies as well.

Logan got his namesake cookies.

And as our captain, Wil, passed out our team shirts, he found a special surprise wrapped inside his.

ree
ree

Ok, can we get serious now?

ree

Probably not! But it’s time to play anyway. We listened to RNT give the briefing on Q-Zar.

ree

Are we ready team?

We won our first two games against the Void and Team Ricky, but lost against OF and Here Comes the D. Still, not a bad start to the day.

During the lunch break we prepared for Laserforce and did some strategizing in the arena.

ree

Checking out all the corners for best placement for our resupply.

ree

Let’s do this!

We won the first two games, once again against the Void and Team Ricky, but hit a snag on the third game with the ammo pack going down, necessitating a replay of that game at the end.

Fourth game up…

I survived the longest on my team, but we got defeated by HCTD.

Time for the replay. This one mattered…but, sigh. We played incredibly hard, but didn’t pull it off. As Lisa Lisa says (almost)…Hit the “beam” now…che sera, che sera!

Dinner break with a couple of the OG Plausibles, then back for Battle Company tactical tag.

ree

Marc Mueller came out with his mobile set-up to run our tactical games.

ree

And we did our thing in tactical.

ree

However, two games in they decided a format change was in order so we switched to six minute games with a seven life elimination format. Reactions?

ree

We won two and lost two to the same teams once again. So, we’re in a reasonable place to finish out Day 1.

At the end of the first day I am tired, but in the good way that it hits during tournaments and really feeling happy about getting to play Armageddon with this team.

ree

Thank you, Revolution!
