FUNdraising with Laser Tag
I arrived at The Fun Warehouse bright and early in the morning for the second Saturday in a row, ready to be a participant in a laser tag FUNdraising event for a local youth organization. I was immediately greeted by an enthusiastic woman who was part of the Syracuse Rebels Youth Football and Cheer group who thanked me for being there as she directed me to the counter. At 9:00 am there were already lots of families on site, ready to play laser tag with a nice percentage of th

Kid-Sized Tag
Technically still Monday (even though I’m posting late), so let’s make it Museum Collection Monday with a look at Q-Tag. This was a Q-Zar product that was kid-sized with a sash and a smaller-sized phaser designed for players under 12 years old. For more laser tag history visit LaserTagMuseum.com . An Early Eagle Eye
It’s Museum collection Monday! This is the iCOMBAT (Predator Games) prototype of the Eagle Eye, which is the first edition of what later became the Barracuda. This was a laser tag piece that could be added to a paintball marker and it ran on the accelerometer with the percussion of the CO2. At that time it was distributed by Tippman. The later Barracuda was a fully electronic, all in one unit. For more laser tag history visit Laser Tag Museum.com . Comments or Questions? Con

Not the Shindig…But Close!
As Syracuse gets ready for another Shindig marathon practice session with players from out of town converging on the Fun Warehouse this week for some social SM5 time and pre-Nats practice, a few of us had a smaller-scale gathering this weekend. Nothing formal, but the perks of membership (which we can call part of “member appreciation month”) are that when we heard some visiting members from a former downstate site wanted to play we were able to pull together a group of local

Featuring Force: Mark 3
Now that I’m back, so is Museum Collection Monday and this week we feature two Laserforce Mark 3 packs (circa 1992-1994). At this stage the colored helmets and chest packs were introduced on a much lighter suit and the laser tube was replaced with a “more robust laser diode.” For more laser tag history visit LaserTagMuseum.com . Closing Time (Laser Tag Day Conclusion)
Tivia runs on Dunkin’…or Starbucks…or pretty much any kind of coffee! So I grabbed a Frappuccino with an extra shot of espresso before making the four hour drive across Georgia, arriving just in time to play one final game before closing time at Frames and Games in Pooler, GA. A perfect way to conclude this Laser Tag Day with an awesome group and some CyberBlast! I had played here previously, but went out of my way to return so that I could end this day dedicated to all laser
