Getting Pixelated at Members Night
My home laser tag site just got a new game in the arcade, so I made two trips out to The Fun Warehouse in Syracuse this weekend for the chance to be among the first at our site to play Pixel. The unveiling of this new attraction coincided perfectly with my primary reason for being there, which was meeting up with some of my teammates for members night. We had another monthly members party scheduled, which is a chance for the more serious players to get together to play agains

Discussions from the Laser Tag Summit: Off-Peak Marketing Ideas to Maximize Laser Tag Revenue
Last month I was involved with the Laser Tag Summit, powered by Amusement Expo International in Las Vegas. Three education panels were dedicated specifically to laser tag. I will be sharing the discussions from that event as part of a series on the Laser Unfocused Tag Talk podcast, beginning with this first panel that I moderated with guests Beth Standlee and Candi Kelley of TrainerTainment. Tag is Really Going To the Dogs!
Tag is going to the dogs…literally! I set out bright and early, headed for tag at The Fun Warehouse in Syracuse first thing in the morning. Why? A fundraiser event was going on in support of the Seventh Heaven Rescue, which is a local dog foster/adoption organization. I was only a participant in the event this time, showing up simply as a player who wanted to support the cause, but on the heels of my most recent Tag 4 A Cause, you can imagine how raising funds to help this ki

The Local Really Is Local!
I got the opportunity to end my work week with some local laser tag, which is a sentence I don’t get to say often! Usually I’m off traveling to find new laser tag arenas in other states, but this time I was delighted to discover something that is basically right in my own back yard. How astounding is that?! I ended my day out in the eastern part of my region, as I often do, in the town where the company I work for has a satellite office. Then I kept driving just eight minutes

Analysis of the Ding
In a recent Laserforce update for Gen 8 a new audio sound was introduced to the SM5 game. It’s a chime (or what I call “the Ding”) to indicate when a player has tagged the medic in this particular game format. I got immediate messages about this as soon as it was known about, which made me wonder what kind of impact it might actually have on the SM5 game. At a recent tag night in Syracuse, players got their first chance to experience the impact of this new update. I took thi

MandARRT! (aka The Third Photon Cover)
This third piece of Neal McPheeters Photon cover art surfaced recently and features my favorite bad guy. I think David Stay would have been pleased that I ended up with the only cover artwork that included his image. I’m pretty sure he would have called it MandARRT! (Terrible pun, absolutely intended!) This is the original acrylic artwork, which became the cover of Photon adventure novel number three, “In Search of Mom”. It unexpectedly arrived with a couple of flat, unfolded

Member of the Week
Well, this is an honor! Thank you to The Fun Warehouse for making me their member of the week! I actually learned a bit about myself from this profile. I had no idea what my combined number of Laserforce games was until Beanz tallied my combined membership numbers. Also, this was an opportunity to extrapolate an estimated number of games I have played across all systems. Although there is no way to know the exact number, it seems likely that my overall lifetime laser tag game

A Little Local Style
When you are on route to the airport and realize you are going to pass right by a laser tag arena…well, the plane will wait for me, right? ;) That was my thought process when I made an impromptu stop to play a game at Thunder Alley Family Entertainment Center in Dickson, TN. I took a moment to “Take it Easy” and take a break with a game of Laserforce using Gen 7 packs. I joined a small group and entered a bright neon, blacklight arena with a lot of green theming to give it a

Tactical Tag in Tennessee
When I first heard about the laser tag arena at WarZone Ax N Tag in McKenzie, TN I was immediately interested in making a trip. After all, I had never actually played using the Laserwar laser tag system and this location was promising to be something a little different. I must say, this was a completely unique experience! Laser Tag Day was a perfect opportunity (or more accurately, the very next morning, which I think we can reasonably call Laser Tag Weekend) and on the heels
