Tag 4 A Cause During Laserforce Internationals Tournament
We are officially one month away from the Laserforce Internationals tournament taking place at The Fun Warehouse in Syracuse, NY! I am delighted to share that this event will include Tag 4 A Cause to help raise funds and awareness in support of the Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter. Join us on the official Nats stream and donate to the cause during the tournament week of July 13th through the 18th. Here’s how it works. We invite you to donate directly to the c

How To Turn A Quiet Night Around
“Great exercise!” “Want to play again!” “Pretty amazing!” These are the words I overheard being said following a game at The Fun Warehouse, played by a group of people that didn’t leave their homes planning to play laser tag last night. Let me explain how a quiet evening turned completely around. Occasionally, every laser tag arena will encounter a slow night, often for reasons beyond their control. When I left my office and headed for the arena I had a feeling that this migh

Talking Laser Tag at the Lair
This week on Laser Unfocused Tag Talk I’m talking with the owners of Dragon’s Lair Family Adventure Center about my recent experience playing Laserwar tactical laser tag at their arena in Iowa. You can also find photos from the visit on my blog at https://www.tiviachickloveslasertag.com/single-post/tactical-tag-at-dragon-s-lair. Tagging in Stealth Silence
My final stop on my Iowa trip was to Spare Time Cedar Rapids. This visit had some unexpected surprises! Most of the Spare Time locations I have played use Zone equipment, so I was surprised to find Lasertron in use at this one. Game marshal Elijah told me this site goes its own way as he led me into the vesting room (both of us looking like Gamora!) in preparation for our 1v1 game. As we were walking into the arena he was first to notice something interestingly coincidental.

More Fun In Iowa
My next stop was to The Fun Station in Cedar Rapids. If I closed my eyes…well, I’d run into a wall. But if I opened them and didn’t already know where I was, I might guess I was at an Urban Air, simply for some of the similar elements I discovered when I played Delta Strike Genesis in their two-story arena. I took note of the open-air arena style while suiting up in the vesting room. The double-level made for a bigger game feel as we traversed both floors (with one guy taking

Tactical Tag at Dragon’s Lair
During my recent Iowa tag travels, I made a special point of visiting Dragon’s Lair Family Adventure Center in Cedar Rapids, IA. I had done my homework ahead of time and learned that this site operates using Laserwar tactical laser tag equipment, which is a system I rarely get the opportunity to play, so I knew I wanted to have an opportunity to play it again. However, my experience at Dragon’s Lair was completely different and I had a chance to try some of the Laserwar tagge

Quad City MJ’s
As I drove to Malibu Jack’s Quad Cities location in Bettendorf, IA I kept thinking of the Quad City DJs and was singing C’mon Ride the Train in my head the whole drive. That’s why I will affectionately refer to this as my Quad City MJ’s adventure! ;) I was excited to check out their Laser Invasion laser tag arena. For the second time today I was suiting up with Delta Strike Genesis gear and checking out something cool in the briefing room. While the rest of the players were p

Iowa…Tag, You’re It!
I jokingly say I threw a dart and landed on Iowa for my next tag location, but that pretty much sums up how I selected my most recent tag travel destination. Iowa, tag, you’re it! My first stop was over to the TBK Bank Entertainment Center in Bettendorf, IA for some Delta Strike in the “Pirate’s Revenge” laser tag arena. My thanks to manager Adam for making it possible for me to get into a game to experience the cool pirate ship themed, two level arena. Chase took me back to

Cyber Seal of Approval
This Museum Collection Monday feature is a home market rarity called Cyber Seal Laser Tag. Produced by ES Tekk, this gear uses a phaser called a “Rekoyl Firing Unit” and soft “Body Armor” with dual sensors, a body speaker and vibration when tagged. I must say, I am intrigued by this logo imprinted on the phaser handle. I could not determine whether this is a company logo or if the letters stand for something. The only other markings I found on it are the words “Terra Nexus”.

What the Frag? - The Laser Tag Rorschach Test
What do you see in this picture? Sometimes laser tag is like a Rorschach test and you see what you want to see. Last night a few of us played LF’s version of Death Match (specifically DM3) for the first time without really grasping the goals. We’re tagging targets for random items like “nail gun” and “rocket launcher” and at the end I see an unusual symbol next to my name (and my whopping score of 10 points). So I assume I have just earned a pair of leggings…makes as much sen
