Laser Storm Draft Tournament with Tag 4 A Cause
Skyway Laser Storm was the site for a draft tournament that drew players from several states (and even Canada!) to partake in some unique laser tag competition. This was simultaneously the host location for my most recent Tag 4 A Cause event in support of Action Against Hunger. Players who donated to the cause competed in a high score trophy challenge following the main team tournament competition, so there was a full day of laser tag for everyone to enjoy. The tournament beg

Team Time
I met up with my Armageddon teammates while we were all in Ohio the night before a different tournament (a draft where we were not likely to be on the same team), so we took the opportunity to enjoy some tag together at a couple of locations. We met up at Putt N Stuff in Orrville, which is believed to be the last location in the country (maybe the world?) still operating with LaserTrek, which makes it very interesting to all of us. Wil, Dave, Chris and Kassidy were all waitin

Compliments from “Not a Mom”
I want to pay a major compliment to the laser tag arena at Acres of Fun in Wooster, OH, but I’m not quite sure how to say it the right way. When I played this arena there was a really particular vibe to it that reminded me of a smaller version of Stratum. Genuinely, that IS a big compliment and one that fills me with nostalgia for an experience I miss greatly. I had a really great game experience at Acres of Fun, but there was a clear comparison in my mind the whole time and

Racing My Way Through the Apex 5K
Over the weekend I participated in my first live running event, the second annual Apex Fun Run 5K held at Apex Entertainment in Marlborough, MA. While I have regularly been doing virtual pace challenges for the past two years, this would be my very first time doing an in-person road race and it seemed like a great place to begin. This event would not only benefit two excellent causes, The New England Center for Children and The Hole In the Wall Gang Camp, but it would also en

Great Shot!
When I walked into Fun and Games in Framingham, MA I found myself face to face (or face to helmet?) with a life size astronaut statue standing underneath a massage spaceship prop suspended from above. My first thought was “this will make a great shot!” Well, “great shot” would become the theme of this visit. They are operating with Lazer Runner and of course the packs repeat “great shot” every time you land a tag, so all throughout my game it was a constant echo of “great sho

Great Staff Make the Difference
I played at three different Launch locations while in Massachusetts and in each case great staff made a huge difference to my experience! The first of the three was Launch Norwood. Let me set the stage for how they really went above and beyond. I had just left another location and knew I was cutting it VERY close to get to Norwood before closing time. I tried calling ahead to see if it was even worth my trying to get there, but could only get a recording, so I took my chances

Tag Inside a Toy Store
I have played laser tag in some pretty unusual locations, from a dentist’s office in Colorado to the end of a race course in Massachusetts (actually, that story is still to come), however my visit to Maziply Toys in Kingston, MA was the first time I ever got to play laser tag inside a toy store! Yep, there is a laser tag arena nestled inside of the largest toy store in New England where they play using Battle Company gear. I appreciated that store manager Jesse and his two li

Tiviachick’s Tag 4 A Cause will be doing a pop-up event at Skyway Laser Storm during the September 25th draft tournament! LQ Radio Drama Reunion
It was great for Mark Agnew and Renee Roccasalva to finally meet in person while I was briefly in the Chicago area! Because of laser tag I am fortunate to have friends all over the country, so a visit with Dan (aka MamaHydra) Leach was a nice way to wrap up the trip. Back in 2020 when we couldn’t actually play laser tag, we kept it going vicariously with this mock radio drama. This seems like a good time to revisit and remember what we put together. Enjoy!
