Aruba, Jamaica, Indiana…Tagging Down In Kokomo
There are a few things I wanted to do while traveling through Indiana. The ones I allowed myself to enjoy this trip included visits to three more laser tag arenas after I left Fort Wayne, starting with a detour that took me “…way down in Kokomo” to The Zone Sports and Event Complex in Kokomo, IN. And believe me, I was singing the refrain to that Beach Boys song the entire way! I am incredibly appreciative to Kalyn for working with me on accommodating a last minute visit and c

Celebrating Ultrazone Fort Wayne’s 30th Anniversary
Getting to attend the 30th anniversary of Ultrazone Fort Wayne in Indiana was such a wonderful experience! This is quite a milestone for a legacy, standalone laser tag center that was not only the first laser tag in Fort Wayne when they opened three decades ago, but has also resonated strongly with me over the last ten years of my own laser tag journey. When I heard about this event I knew I needed to be there, so I flew out to Indiana just for one day to be part of the festi

Virtual Traveling History
For Museum Collection Monday I’d like to share the latest addition to the Traveling Museum Collection video series. This is the History of Zone, presented as a video display in lieu of being able to have the collection actually travel with me this time. The Draft Tournament
Let’s talk tourney. Before anything else, shout out to Thomas Provitt for coordinating and George Raptis for hosting the September Laser Storm regional tournament at Skyway Laser Storm in Warren, OH. Even though Storm is not exactly my strong suit, I have always really enjoyed being part of events held here, and this past weekend was no exception. No event ever happens without a surprise or two. There were some unforeseen challenges that occurred and I think they did a great

Laser Tag Tournament Players Raise Funds for Epilepsy Foundation with Tag 4 A Cause
Laser tag players from across six states participated in Tag 4 A Cause this past weekend, helping to raise over $1100 to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation. I am so proud of our laser tag community! This was included as a side event during the September Laser Storm regional draft tournament held at Skyway Laser Storm in Warren, Ohio. Big props to Thomas Provitt for organizing the tournament with owner George Raptis and my thanks to them both for allowing Tag 4 A Cause to happen

Just Wondering…
Just wondering, am I the only one who took a three hour detour on route to the tournament when I heard there was a laser tag arena in Pennsylvania that I had missed? I picked up an extra stop on my way to Ohio by visiting Fun Central in Clearfield, PA for a game of Lazer Runner. I had called ahead and inquired about the system. Based on the description of the gear I could tell it was going to be Runner, but when I asked if the phaser looked like a grocery store price scanner

Anniversary of the Photon Television Show
The Photon television show reportedly premiered on this day (September 20th) back in 1986. It is with tremendous gratitude to my sweet friend, the late David Stay, that Mandarr’s Private Collection of backstage photos from the show can continue to be viewed at https://tiviachick.wixsite.com/photonforever . Years ago when I was originally building the Photon Forever website, David sent me the original pics to scan and return to him for the purpose of archiving these rare image
