Reminder: Tag 4 A Cause to Benefit the Epilepsy Foundation
Earlier this week I was just sitting here in my office, drinking my coffee and reading about our last Tag 4 A Cause in this month’s issue of RePlay Magazine. :) Which seems like a good excuse to remind you that our next Tag 4 A Cause in support of the Epilepsy Foundation will be taking place during the draft tournament at Skyway Laser Storm on Sunday, September 22st. This is the Tag 4 A Cause trophy for the fundraiser. When you make a donation to the Epilepsy Foundation durin

Laser Tag Artwork
While in North Carolina I met an amazingly talented artist named Leanne Hannah who did some awesome laser tag art for me to add to my website! :) For the record, I am NOT attempting a third time around tagging all 50 states. However, since completing my second time around at the end of 2023, I have laser tagged in 21 states yet again! So…not trying for 3x…but…hmmm… Comments or Questions? Experiencing District 57
I really appreciate that the staff at District 57 worked with me so that I could experience their tactical arena during a very short window of time that I had while I was in Charlotte. There are multiple attractions featured at this distinctive entertainment center, but the Bordertown tactical laser tag arena featuring iCOMBAT equipment is what drew me to pay a visit. Generally they require a minimum of four players, but the next available game I could join with a group would

A Piece of the Skyline
I really enjoy seeing cool statement structures built inside of laser tag arenas. It’s one of the things I tend to remember the most. Although more often than not the structures I see most frequently tend to be a bit more space age or creative theme-related, I absolutely LOVE to see structures that are based on the local geography of the area! That’s why I was so excited to see an iconic piece of the Charlotte skyline represented in the form of a Wells Fargo-inspired building

A Taste of the South in South Carolina
Get ready for it. I am about to make a big, controversial statement (lol, not that big and I hope not that controversial!)…here it is. I actually really enjoy playing Lasertron in non-Tron arenas. I know, stop the presses! But when I visited Stars and Strikes in Rock Hill, SC I was joined by three other players for a small game in a CW built arena and I was excited because the flow of the game always feels a little bit different and fresh in this kind of space. Welcome to Sou

The Laser Trail
The next day began with a trip to tag my way through the Laser Trail at Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC. This is a cute, smaller sized arena with a unique theme that is perfectly suited to the rustic lodge atmosphere. I was joined by Jay for a 1v1 game, which was actually ideal for this space. We suited up in our CyberBlast packs and went into the arena which looks like you are tagging through the night woods, peeking around trees and tagging through the branches. There are a

Tagging at Tiebreakers
My trip to Tiebreakers in Johnson City, TN was about two years in the making! I first met owner and CEO Eric Hensley in 2023 during a party at IAAPA and I have been looking forward to visiting his Forgotten Kingdom laser tag ever since. He and his team made it quite a memorable experience! Upon my arrival I was greeted by Eric and the chief operating officer, Derek, at the front counter. While the restaurant, bowling and arcade areas are openly visible as soon as you walk thr

Waking Up to Tag in North Carolina
Waking up to play some laser tag first thing in the morning is an excellent way to start the day! After flying into the Charlotte airport late on Wednesday night, I rented a car and started driving North, getting as far as Lenoir, NC before stopping to find a hotel for the night. When I woke up the next day I didn’t have to go any further than right down the road in order to find Bo’s Family Entertainment. As it was early, I detoured first to a local diner and then sat in my

Vintage Runner
For this week’s Museum Collection Monday, it’s time to spotlight a pair of Lazer Runner packs from circa 1999. It’s always cool to see how pack designs evolve over the years!
