Celebrating with my 700th Arena
In celebration of International Laser Tag Day, I wanted to mark the occasion with a milestone of my own by playing my 700th laser tag arena during a visit to Recoil Trampoline Park in Valdosta, GA. I gave a great deal of thought to the selection of this arena, which has been on my radar for quite some time. Owner Trent Coggins has been a familiar face at Amusement Expo where I recently discussed my plans with him. I was confident his business would be an excellent location fo

Happy International Laser Tag Day!
Happy International Laser Tag Day! As I prepare for a VERY busy day of laser tag I’m stopping at a roadside stand for some boiled peanuts. “Are you calling ME a Miss Valdosta Feed and Grain?” Lol! Can you guess where I’ll be laser tagging today? It’s a big day for lots of us who love laser tag. Inventor George Carter III and technical engineer James Dooley launched the laser tag industry with the development of Photon, the very first laser tag and we still celebrate it annua

Laser Tag Day on the Radio
It was a privilege to be able to promote International Laser Tag Day this morning on three local radio stations to spotlight the anniversary of the game, which began with the grand opening of Photon in Dallas, TX 42 years ago on March 28, 1984. Tomorrow is the actual day to play, as every year the date of March 28th is celebrated across the industry in honor of Photon. I want to thank all the morning show hosts who welcomed me to “talk tag” with them on the air! Laser Tag Day

Amusement Expo 2026
Amusement Expo International returned to Las Vegas, taking over the west hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center with two days of education followed by two days of the annual trade show for professionals across all ends of the family entertainment industry. Once again I took this opportunity to catch up with all the laser tag manufacturers in attendance. In lieu of a separate laser tag education track, I interviewed the reps from each manufacturer about advice for potential o

Vegas/Utah Side Quests
My purpose for being in Las Vegas was to attend Amusement Expo International, but there’s nothing wrong with having a side quest or two before the show, right? So with Noah, Sadie and Maree along for the ride we decided to chill for a bit by making a road trip to Utah! I knew Cope, Caleb and some other tag friends would be at Laser Mania in St. George for an SM5 members night on Tuesday, so it seemed like a perfect time to catch up with friends…and since every arena we visite

Nevada Makes It 699
The last six weeks of tag travels were all part of setting me on course to hit a milestone number (still to come) on Laser Tag Day. But remember, I was about thirty arenas shy of the mark when I came up with this idea! So to get to my last stop before Vegas and hit arena number 699 was such an amazing feeling because I knew that everything had aligned perfectly so the next NEW arena I play (that I have not visited before) will be my 700th and I could save that for something s

Stars and Strike (Delta Strike, That Is) at FlagTagAZ
I have had FlagTagAZ on my radar for quite some time and this trip was the perfect opportunity to check out all they have to offer at their multi-faceted entertainment center. My thanks to owner Scott Sawyer for the hospitality and tour as I finally got to play some Delta Strike laser tag in Flagstaff, AZ. Scott told me that he has owned this business for about seven and a half years, purchasing it from another entertainment center back in 2018. While they offer attractions i

Passing Through Peoria
I stopped for a game of Delta Strike at Urban Air in Peoria, AZ to check out their arena in my way through town. I am appreciative that I was able to get a quick game in at the very start of their day, checking out a two story design with the previous generation of UA theme design (compared to what I have been encountering more recently). This arena is decked out in lots of bright blue and green with plenty of glowing lights incorporated. This massive center structure is quit

Awesome Arizona Adventures at Andretti’s
A new Andretti’s Karting and Games has opened in Glendale, AZ since my last visit to the state, so I drove onward to Arizona the next morning, stopping in early in the day. I’m sure most people are first struck by the statue in the middle of the arena. However, I had already been impressed with that when I visited their Orlando arena. This time I was all about the southwestern accents that let you know this is an Arizona arena. Seriously, I got to tag around cacti! And while

A Portal to Atlantis
This one is impressive! From the moment I stepped foot into the briefing room at Portals Entertainment Center in Temecula, CA I got a good vibe that there would be something cool behind the arena door. After all, THIS was their vesting area! Timing on my trips is often unpredictable, so I was happy to get a 1v1 game with marshal Travis, as this may have been the best way for me to properly experience the arena. He definitely gave me a competitive game, which allowed me to be
