International Laser Tag Day 2022
This year International Laser Tag Day was special for me for many reasons, most importantly because it was one final chance to Tag 4 A Cause in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities before the end of March. My day began early with several radio appearances on three of Central New York’s top radio stations. It was great to talk tag with Talk of the Town, Listen It’s Liz and Laci Ray to promote International Laser Tag Day and the evening Tag 4 A Cause special event we had

What’s New in Laser Tag for 2022
On my recent trip to Nevada I spent a day attending the Amusement Expo International trade show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, which was alive with activity as many of the top companies in laser tag and the amusement industry showcased their latest innovations. The opening ceremony and ribbon cutting kicked things off with an air of optimism as show organizers announced that this year’s event represented the largest participation in the last 12 years. I took the opportun

Success in St. George at Laser Mania
The most recent Tag 4 A Cause night was held at Laser Mania Family Fun Center in St. George, UT in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities. It was convenient to add this event on the heels of my Las Vegas travels because St. George is a relatively short distance away and the drive leads you through some absolutely gorgeous scenery. My sincere thanks to Jarett Waite and his family and team. The night was quite a success and we exceeded our fundraising goal! I arrived in tim

Tagging in “Big Screen” Style at Cedar Fun Center
My travels had gotten me as far as Las Vegas by Thursday morning and I was ready to explore a bit further, so I made a road trip up to Cedar City, UT to visit with Brandon Eves and his team at Cedar Fun Center. What a unique location! This business offers both movie theater attractions and a laser tag arena that was built where a theater space had previously been. I got to take a tour of the theaters before seeing how that “movie magic” is translated over to tag. I love to se

“Exceptional Arenas Make a Lasting Impression” at the Laser Tag Convention
I’d like to give my thanks to the Laser Tag Convention for extending an invitation to me to be one of this year’s seminar speakers. It was a pleasure to present an operator’s class titled “Exceptional Arenas Make a Lasting Impression” and share my thoughts based on having played in nearly 400 laser tag arenas. It was also quite an honor to be part of this distinguished line-up of fellow presenters. My objectives for this class were to identify what sets truly exceptional aren

Repeat Performance
After landing in Las Vegas I had a free day in my schedule, so I decided this would be my “sushi and play laser tag” relaxation day. First, a shout out for the AMAZING sushi at Jjanga Sushi. I am definitely returning to this restaurant next time I am in the area. Then it was time for a repeat performance, playing at several arenas that I had already visited previously. Why was I playing repeat locations instead of looking for something new? Well, I have only one arena of cush

Looking Back on My Week (Cookie Part First)
I’m at home, exhausted but quite happy about everything that happened during my past week of travels. There is SO MUCH to share, that it will take a little time for me to put it all together, but there will be some good stuff on the way. That’s the middle part, like the double stuff inside the Oreo. For now, let me just give you the cookie part (meaning the start and end of the trip) with a little overview of what’s coming next. This week could not have started out in a more

LaserTag.Net CEO Provides an Interview and an Update
Two weeks ago, the world was a very different place. On February 23rd I recorded an interview with Michael Obod, the co-founder and CEO of LaserTag.Net, who was sitting in his laser tag manufacturing office in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He was enthusiastically telling me about his company and the things they were actively working on, including an upcoming rebranding with the name Netronic. Literally 12 hours after that interview took place the Russian attack on Ukraine began. We had n

Catching Up on My RePlay Reading
It was such a nice surprise to start reading this month’s RePlay Magazine and discover that I have been mentioned in two separate articles! :) This is the Vegas Bound Expo Showbook edition, which arrived in perfect timing. The Laser Tag Convention, which is co-located with the Amusement Expo International, is about a week away, so I am finalizing all the pieces of my operator’s class presentation titled “Exceptional Arenas Make a Lasting Impression”. If you are attending the

Celebrating with Lasers
Is it considered birthday bashing if it’s your own birthday and everyone in the arena is over 21? Asking for a friend. Lol, seriously though, what better way to celebrate my birthday weekend than going out for sushi and laser tag. Visiting an arena I haven’t been to in quite awhile was a great start. Playing the system that used to be second nature to me was even better. For the first time in literally years I once again picked up a red Rift pack (don’t knock my first!) and p
