Arena Homage near the Nation’s Capitol

Just a short distance from our nation’s capital is a laser tag arena that pays homage to the local area with some cool decor themed to fit the local area at Fun Land of Fairfax in Centreville, VA.

With Air Force jets and naval ships decorating the walls of the arena, there is a sense of paying homage to the military, which makes perfect sense in this region of the country, just outside of Washington, DC. That’s why I took my souvenir eagle along as the mascot for this trip.

I joined a father/son duo for a small game, as I had arrived only minutes after the doors opened. That was perfect, as I got to watch that young boy’s eyes light up over the game!

And the arena had some larger than life elements that I can only imagine were completely thrilling to his young mind. For example, the airbrushed artwork on the walls depicting fighter jets is really impressive!

And there was a naval ship flanked by a full size Delta Strike target and an array of mini-targets decorating the walls. To me, this was a real standout piece.

The bunker in the middle has a real “defend the fort” kind of vibe.

And throughout the space there are bunkers with sandbag and tire props to tag from around and behind.

I love to notice what makes an arena different and in this case it really is the fact that all these design elements make sense to the local area and that makes it feel like more of a special experience. When I think about where I was when I was tagging by that naval ship, I’ll remember my plane landing in D.C. before making a beeline to play some tag at Fun Land of Fairfax.
