A Little Local Style

When you are on route to the airport and realize you are going to pass right by a laser tag arena…well, the plane will wait for me, right? ;)

That was my thought process when I made an impromptu stop to play a game at Thunder Alley Family Entertainment Center in Dickson, TN. I took a moment to “Take it Easy” and take a break with a game of Laserforce using Gen 7 packs.

I joined a small group and entered a bright neon, blacklight arena with a lot of green theming to give it a ravaged city kind of look.

This was a living arena design with several tower structures where if you looked carefully you could interact with the extra rotating targets.

At first glance I thought this looked like a few other arenas I have seen done in a similar style. However, if you are searching for the locally-themed Easter eggs, they are there. My favorite is this wall that pays homage to the local Roxy theater.

I think I may have traveled along this local stretch of highway.

And I am told the owner’s grandchildren have their names hidden in various locations on the walls. Here are e a couple!

And here’s a reference to a local state park!

Honestly, these personalized touches are what will make me remember this arena. I always think that what makes a space special is what makes it unique and that’s why the local references make a big difference.

This arena was pretty cool.

I’m glad I had time for one more stop during my time in Tennessee. And I made my flight on time!
