For Museum Collection Monday I want to share a precursor to home market laser tag.



This Star Trek Super Phaser II Target Game (circa 1976 - a decade before the Photon and Worlds of Wonder home market games hit the store shelves) sends and receives light by reflecting it off a target and receiving the light right back to the phaser, resulting in a buzz for an accurate hit.




Though not technically “laser tag”, it is a cool piece of related history that pre-dates the game as we know it.
