Cool Surprises

I headed over to T-Rex Fun Spot in Hot Springs, AR to see what their arena had to offer. This one had a few cool surprises!

When I arrived my first thought was “this looks like a hotel”…which part of the property is. That’s a little different. I went over to the main building to purchase my game before being joined by Fisher for a game in the arena located in the second building, adjacent to the hotel lobby. I was struck immediately by the cool sign promoting laser tag out front.

Do you see why I thought this was cool? It’s picturing a Worlds of Wonder Starlyte. Someone knows their vintage laser tag here! ;)

We entered the building and headed over to the armory where they had racks of Gen 8 Laserforce packs ready to go. We vested up for the game.

Another staff member ran the game from a lower level, but my next surprise was when Fisher showed me to a staircase to go up to a second level. It’s not often that I find the laser tag arena upstairs! However, upon entering, I found this to be quite a cool and unusual space!

This is a single level arena with a pretty original looking design. The neon paint splatters glow under the black lights, which is not that unusual. However, the build was what really caught my eye. Check out the curved walls and the shaped edges and you’ll see what I mean.

I found bases tucked away in opposite corners, plus a beacon tucked in a hallway on the back wall and a generator in the center, so lots elements to tag here.

The employee running the game asked who was Blade. When I said it was me (I was unable to sign in at this site) she gave the other guy a look that said it all. We all knew what had just happened without even having to look at the scoreboard. I think I took them by surprise as well! ;)
