Look Who’s Tagging
In this latest edition of “Look Who’s Tagging”, here are a couple of unexpected laser tag players I encountered during my recent travels, all striking the laser tag pose! :)
Townsend Coleman:

Prolific voice actor Townsend Coleman told me he has played laser tag in Los Angeles (though he was not sure which system). Fun fact: He’s well known for being the voice of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and last year we made another TMNT actor (Robbie Rist) a laser tag fan while playing a mini-round of laser tag with him at an event in Connecticut. That’s two tagging turtles!
Bettina Bush:

Actress and singer Bettina Bush has played laser tag with her daughter at Ultrazone Sherman Oaks. Turns out that the voice of Rainbow Brite loves to tag those rainbow bases! However, you may also know her from her iconic McDonald’s “I’m Lovin’ It” commercials and that sentiment carries over to laser tag too!
Jared Jones:

Music producer Jared Jones (who has remixed for Taylor Dayne, Solange Knowles and LaToya Jackson, among others) is the real deal. He LOVES playing laser tag in Virginia and enthusiastically told me how much he enjoyed playing laser tag at the former Ultrazone Richmond, continuing to play once that arena became Laser Quest Richmond and even now as that same arena has a new life as Mission Laser RVA.
So, you just never know who you might run into who shares a love of laser tag!
Now, to switch it up a bit as a pop culture P.S. to this post, she may not be a laser tag player, but I’ve recently learned that Leanne Hannah, the artist who did my Tiviachick art last year happens to also have a pretty cool comic book history, having drawn for the Image Comics Masters of the Universe comic, Volume 3, Issue #7 from 2004.

I was recently asked in an interview to talk about the pop culture relevance of laser tag and I think it’s clear (and cool!) to see so many unexpected laser tag ties everywhere you look!
