Rad Tag Really Is Some Rad Tag!

Rad Tag in Pleasant Grove, UT has a really impressive arena and is very aptly name because it was, in fact, really rad tag!

You can tell immediately when you walk through the doors that this is a really cool Lasertron arena. You know because the ob deck here consists of a giant picture window giving a full-wall size view into the two-story arena. This is so smart because it grabs the eye with the brightly lit sectors, it allows a spectator to observe and engage with the game and it even sparks a little FOMO to watch the fun happening on the other side. It was the first thing I noticed upon arrival.

Emily and I went into a session that, in typical Tron fashion, was made up of four smaller rounds. We had to carve out a bit more time for this stop. We entered the briefing room and vested up…accompanied on each leg of this journey by NeighZor.

There was a nice sized group of players going into this game and we were ready to go!

This whole session was dedicated to playing King of the Hill. the map showed us where the sectors would be.

The object is to locate the sectors when they are lit up yellow (which changes every 40 seconds) and tag them to take control of the for your team. In a way it’s a bit like Domination, but you won’t beholding the for long, so you must keep an eye out for the yellow lights.

I know the system likes to tell you “it’s a close game”, but this time it really was!

While Tron arenas often look very similar, I must say this one was particularly well done. The size was good for this group, the flow of the game felt right and it is just aesthetically really attractive.

And the cherry on top for me was that they sell excellent tag swag (my favorite kind of souvenirs to bring home) including a hat and t-shirt I would actually wear…because it’s the cool tag swag that gets worn to the next arena! ;)

This was an excellent Lasertron experience and I’m really glad we made the time to play some Rad Tag.
