Game On!

My most recent laser tag adventures led me to cross the country and I found myself in the Seattle area over the weekend. My game plan was to fly into Seattle, rent a car and tag my way south to Portland for the tournament that would start competitions on Friday and finish up on Saturday night/Sunday morning. However, before I drove south, I headed about an hour north of Seattle to get my game on at Game On NW in Everett, WA.

I love it when things work out smoothly and on this case I happened to walk in just in time to be added to a game playing with this group as we vested up with LaserMaxx EVO 6 packs.

I joined them in the briefing room and smiled as I realized we were playing with purple and blue teams. Coincidence? :)

We entered the single-level arena that had one of those retro, old- school tag vibes that I love. Lots of neon paint splatters…

Lots of window grates…

And the best part was finding lots of mirrors to tag reflections interesting angles.

This group had divided up to plays guys vs girls before I entered the game, so I played with the mom and the girls.

It was their first time and everyone really seemed to be having a blast! It’s hard not to have fun once the lights and sounds and game experience are all working together to create a mood. In pics the lighting has a confetti effect that was really cool.

I play LaserMaxx occasionally, but my experiences with it have been fairly sporadic. It felt like this version of the game might be a slightly different variation than what I have played before. However, after a long day of travel I couldn’t be certain about that. What I am sure about is that everyone played with a lot of heart. The boys were bringing their best effort to the game and the girls were tagging back with gusto, tagging in blast mode and more. Loved it!

After the first game we checked out the scoreboard in the lobby. Nicely done Daniel!

I looked around the front lobby area and took notes of the ax throwing, the VR and the Flash Pad, which made perfect sense when I learned that they have other related companies where Battle Company equipment is in use.

We had two games available, but to make time for all the stops I had planned for this day I opted to leave after just the first one, but if I had more time I would have loved to keep playing with this group. The game was a great time and I hope they had just as much fun during their second round.

I appreciated being able to take home a souvenir piece of tag swag.

If you get the chance and you find yourself in Washington state it is definitely worth paying a visit to Game On NW.
