Jack and Jill Were Up a Different Hill

I had planned to meet up with Emily for one more game at Jack and Jill Lanes in Lehi, UT. However, I arrived and waited for a bit, but I didn’t see her…or the laser tag, for that matter. It turns out there are actually two bowling alleys called Jack and Jill’s in the area and I ended up at the wrong one! Once we got that figured out (and I ended up in Lehi about ten minutes later) I realized that, while this was up a different hill, it really had a spectacular view of a few larger hills in the region behind it, so all’s well that ends well!

I was looking forward to playing some Zone, but when we watched the briefing video it was showing us Nexus (which would have been ironic to play twice on one trip), so I was pleased to see Helios 2 on the rack once we entered the vesting room.

I found this to be an interesting arena. It’s a two-level field with a classic CW design. It plays well and, with the H2 system, balances with lots of newer elements. I looked at it thinking this is a great example of a space that has really good bones.

In the upper level the center structure was alive with red light beams drawing your eye.

One of the energizer-style bases was on that upper level, while the two others were down below.

There were a crazy amount of targets scattered everywhere, so I was setting off the “drop” sound left and right!

We played as part of a small group and everyone really seemed to enjoy the experience. We had a great time!

It was great to be able to play with a fellow tagger who enjoys multiple systems and we had quite a full day going around to all these local arenas. This could very well be a great region to play a mini-geddon! I am so glad I got to experience this arena as well as all the “hills” along the way!
