The Light Shines: 5K on The Longest Day
Tag 4 A Cause began as a virtual 5K laser tag challenge and I still pledge to do 5K inside the arena every time. So on The Longest Day of June 20th (the summer solstice, which is the longest day of the year) I completed my 5K challenge inside the laser tag arena at The Fun Warehouse as we continue to raise awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association, alongside Stealth Elf and Alex Boxes who kept me moving for the challenge! I normally ballpark that it takes about ten games (obv

Members Make it Happen During Tag 4 A Cause for the Alzheimer’s Association
Tag 4 A Cause at The Fun Warehouse in Syracuse, NY, which was hosted in support of the Alzheimer’s Association, was a huge success and we EXCEEDED our fundraising goal! Thank you to The Fun Warehouse staff and members for making this possible! It was members night, so our laser tag community came out in force (pun intended!) to support the cause. We even had members from as far away as Buffalo and Canada in attendance! Beanz had programmed the packs to light up in purple and

An Attractive Arena
The title of this post is sort of a play on words because, while it was a good looking arena, it also “attracted” my attention enough to motivate a last minute detour on my way through Pennsylvania, and RNT joined me for the stop. I am also focusing mostly on the arena because on this stop we encountered an equipment issue that resulted in us checking out the space more than actually playing the game. Regardless, we made the most of it. We stopped at Two T’s Family Entertainm

Actually…It’s Still Actual Reality!
When I heard that Planet Trog in Whitehall, PA was opening for a rare night of public, walk-in laser tag, I knew I could not miss what might possibly be one of my final opportunities to play Actual Reality. You see, this location is the last remaining commercial laser tag arena in the world to still be operating the Actual Reality laser tag system, which was also true eight years ago when I first played here back in May of 2017. So, for them to still have this system be opera

Making History
Carving out a piece of laser tag history, Matthew Hogan (aka Taipan) from Brisbane, Australia has earned first place wins with his teams in both the Laserforce and the recent Zone Australia national tournaments. He discusses his cross-system success and perspectives on this week’s episode of Laser Unfocused Tag Talk. The Ironman!
It has been a LONG time since I’ve played an Ironman game at any arena, so I was really pleased to hear it would be making a return to my home arena with an hour long continuous game scheduled prior to AYCP last weekend in Syracuse. Umm…I forgot how long an hour can feel when you are accustomed to tagging in ten minute bursts. Sixty consecutive minutes of tag didn’t slow me down, but getting up the next morning isn’t as easy as it used to be! Just kidding (sort of)! I’m obvio

It Was a Nexus Kind of Night
When I decided to make a road trip to Connecticut I had a few locations in mind to stop, but it all began with a recommendation I received in March that I ought to check out the new Gel Blaster Nexus Laser Tag arena at RPM Raceway in Stamford, CT. So, off I went! As soon as I arrived I asked to get into a game, specifying that I was interested in playing the laser tag version. My timing was perfect, as there was a group suiting up for laser tag right then, so I joined them an

Where Am I Now?
It was interesting finding my way into a game at Thrillz/Jumpz in Danbury, CT because they have a somewhat unique double-business structure. It’s two amusement businesses, separate, but located in the same building. When I arrived I filled out a waiver and went to the front of the line at Jumpz Trampoline Sports, where ai was told that the laser tag was in this building, but is technically a Thrillz attraction, so I went over to the other side of the building and learned a bi

“Subway!” An Xtreme Play City Adventure
One of the best experiences of my trip was getting to tag inside a really creative, city themed arena at Xtreme Play Adventure Park in Danbury, CT. A couple of games of Helios 2 with these awesome competitors made for some of the best tag of the day! When I arrived I was directed to an arena with a “Final Assault” sign pointing the way. The first thing I noticed was the Zone scoreboard, indicating what system I was about to play. The second thing I noticed was…an actual pay p
