Tivia Was Here with LaserBlast at IAAPA
I have said this many times and it remains true. When it comes to creatively theming a booth for IAAPA, LaserBlast REALLY understands the assignment! I knew from the pre-show videos I had seen that LaserBlast was building a “dinotopia” for showcasing their laser tag and Putt Mania this year and, as a reptile mama, I was excited to see what I would find. To my delight, I had a chance to play some CyberBlast with co-owner Carla Ewald, and together we went out into this prehisto

A Real GEM
Ok, this one is a real GEM (literally)! For Museum Collection Monday I’ve brought out a Darklight system 5 GEM (acronym for Game Enhancement Module). This one is circa 2008 and would be installed as part of an arena. It can both tag you and be tagged and can function in many modes including as a target, source for power-ups or even using a presence detector to deactivate you if you are in its path. See more laser tag history at LaserTagMuseum.com . Comments or Questions? Con

An Incredibowl Ending
I’m sure it will shock absolutely nobody to hear that when IAAPA 2025 came to a close and I had left the convention center, the first thing I did was…go play laser tag! I headed for Incredibowl Entertainment in Winter Haven, FL for some Final Assault Laser Tag. Their entrance area is attention-getting and fierce, which builds excitement for the game as you wonder what you’ll encounter behind this door. I was taken into the briefing room and shown the CyberBlast briefing video

Laser Tag at IAAPA 2025
Attending the IAAPA Expo in Orlando has become one of the absolute highlights of my year! It’s an opportunity to visit with laser tag manufacturers, talk with them about their latest innovations and keep on the pulse of what’s going on in the laser tag industry, all while visiting with friends and soaking up some sun down in Florida. :) It is also a MASSIVE event and every year I contemplate the best way to fully showcase all of the amazing things that I see going on in the i

Ready to Roll (or Bowl)
I detoured back to Bowlero in Port St. Lucie, FL to play one final game before the night was done. Joined by Bree and Jackie, we were ready to roll. I was a bit surprised to find Lasertron at a Bowlero, though they informed me the laser tag was already here when the company took over this center. I’ve noticed that Bowlero has been acquiring quite a few bowling alley locations, many of which already had laser tag that they have kept as-is for the moment. So that is how I found

Force, Fog and Family Fun
As it turns out, it was Family Fun Night at Fun Depot in Lake Worth Beach, FL, which means I got in on a night full of Force (aka Laserforce), fog (we’ll get to that!) and family fun with some awesome players enjoying a special night. I had called ahead and appreciate the managers and staff (including Jason and the game marshal, Victoria) allowing me to join the fun for a game in the middle of all the activities already going on. I headed back to the arena and (appropriately

An Elev8ed Experience at Jensen Beach
My next stop was to Elev8 Fun in Jensen Beach, FL and of all the Elev8 experiences I have had (playing all three of their current locations), I think I enjoyed this one the most so far. The staff was quite accommodating to get me into a game right away, playing against Derek. He walked with me, showing me the way to the arena, and we passed something intriguing! Most people would be more interested in the Wizard, but my first question was “what’s up with the Tron barricades?”

Southbound Tagging
My plane landed in Orlando early on Tuesday afternoon of IAAPA show week, but there is no sense in me even trying to talk to people on busy day one, so instead my week started with (you guessed it) visits to a few laser tag arenas. I had already played most of the Orlando sites, so I hopped into my rental car and, as Carrie Underwood sings about, I was Southbound! ;) My first stop was to Urban Air in Port St. Lucie, FL. The lovely woman on duty advised me I would have to purc

First Generation Photon Pod
I have something really special to share for Museum Collection Monday, as this pod is officially both the newest AND the oldest pack in the collection! :) This is one of the very first original “Gen 1” Photon pods used in the first Photon center in Dallas, TX back in 1984. This item was generously provided directly from George Carter III who told me that it features inexpensive fiberglass parts and tooling (rather than using molds) because they were on a budget when they were

Hitting You with the Highlights from IAAPA 2025
I’m just back from an amazing few days attending IAAPA 2025 in Orlando, Florida! This is my IAAPA highlight reel. With so many cool things that took place, it’s obviously going to take a little bit of time to put it all together and properly showcase all the interviews, demos, stories and new product debuts to share with you (but all of that is coming VERY soon to TiviachickLovesLaserTag.com ) so in the meantime, here’s just a peek at what a cool week it was during IAAPA in O
