The Second Unicorn
I drove right past Loveland without realizing that they were open on Tuesdays (sorry guys, got my wires crossed), but if I hadn’t, I might have missed finding the second unicorn at Main Event in Colorado Springs, CO. Yes, this photo was taken at a Main Event! If you are picking up on what a few friends immediately noticed, you’ll see that I am wearing a Zone Helios CE pack instead of the Delta Strike (or for a short time, GBN) that I would normally expect to find here. Only o

What’s New, Malibu?
There is a new Malibu Jack’s in Thornton, CO, open for less than a year and new since my last visit to the state. I was excited to pay a visit before flying out of Denver the next day. So I introduced myself and manager Lacey was kind enough to free up Owen for a game against me, with the condition that he “do us proud and don’t let her beat you!” Lol! Well, Owen was a worthy competitor and I really appreciated being able to check out this new arena. We put on our Delta Strik

The Most Incredible Game in Wyoming
I’m not exaggerating to say that the most incredible game in Wyoming has to be the laser tag I played at Derby Lanes in Cheyenne. Even though I arrived at an odd time, early on a weekday, as soon as I met the manager, Brian, I could tell he was as enthusiastic as I was about making a laser tag game possible. So he set me up with two of his best players (his daughter Mia and fellow staff member Jared) and we were off to play some Helios 2 in an upstairs arena located above the

Swinging Through South Dakota
If you’re thinking it’s quite a drive between major cities from North to South Dakota, you are correct. It took about five hours for me to make my way to the Gel Blaster Nexus arena at Jump N Slide Adventure Park in Rapid City, SD before the end of the day. I crossed back over the time zone line for the second time this day. Along the route there are long stretches of nothing but highway, punctuated by towns so small that they have population signs like this! But the lengthy

Next Up: North Dakota
Next up: North Dakota. I drove across the eastern part of Montana, making my way into western North Dakota before stopping to rest for the night. Then the following morning I timed the remainder of my trip to arrive at TILT Studios Bismarck just as soon as they opened. Well, it turned out I arrived a bit later than that because I didn’t realize that I would lose an hour crossing over from the mountain to the central time zone in the process. I stopped for breakfast in route a

Off to The Cove
The Cove Arcade and Laser Tag Center is a relatively new addition, open for just about a year, at the Big Horn Resort in Billings, MT. I learned that Billings has really grown tremendously with local attractions in recent years and this addition has brought even more amusements to the local scene. When the briefing room looks this good it makes me really look forward to seeing the arena. I was joined by Shea for a round of CyberBlast. And of course the bison was along for the

Montana: Home of the Bad Bear, the Wild Rose and the Local Berry
As I continue my third time laser tagging around all 50 states, I flew from Texas to Montana before renting a car to drive my way across the Midwest. My first stop was a visit to Wild Rose Action Center in Billings, MT, home of the Bad Bear Laser Tag. I found a cute little Montana bison at the airport to be my mascot for this leg of the trip. When I walked in to play I was greeted by Josh and Kat who gave me a tour of their new location. The owner, Richard, took over the lase

Making A List, But Forgetting To Check It Twice
I used to keep a list of all the arenas I had visited simply to have a running tally of my growing arena count. However, lately my list has become a necessary double-check as I can no longer trust my “old lady” memory to remember what arenas I have already played! That became evident when I walked into Malibu Jack’s in North Richland Hills, TX thinking “this looks just like that other arena I played” before I saw the Alamo and smacked my head thinking “Wait, of course I have

Step Into Synergy
I would have been able to tell that the Pinstack in Westlake, TX was a brand new facility, even without seeing the inside of the arena. However, with the mint look of one of Art Attack’s new themes (which I affectionately dub “Synergy”) it was like walking into the heart of a two-story computer! I have noticed that Pinstack has added several new locations, including this one, since my last exploration trip about a year ago. My thanks to Nolan and Tate for facilitating the gam

There’s A First Time for Everything
There’s a first time for everything and, when I stopped by Andy B’s in Denton, TX my request to play some laser tag turned into the first time one young staff member ever played. I’m delighted my visit was the catalyst for her first laser tag experience! Just a side note with a personal opinion. I believe playing every attraction at least once (but especially laser tag) should be part of the onboarding process for any FEC when they hire a new staff member. It makes them more
